The Preventing Infections in Cancer Patients program, launched in 2011, is a public health initiative from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) aimed at educating cancer patients on their risk of developing an infection during chemotherapy. The program features a newly enhanced interactive risk assessment tool and downloadable educational materials to help prepare, prevent and protect cancer patients against infections along with outpatient infection-control resources for healthcare professionals.
