An Adverse Event (or Adverse Experience, or “AE”), is any untoward medical occurrence in a patient or clinical investigation subject administered a pharmaceutical product and which does not necessarily have to have a causal relationship with the treatment. Amgen staff are required to report AEs within one business day of learning of the AE.
Amgen will not tolerate acts or attempts to improperly influence government personnel or private individuals to secure improper advantage for Amgen’s commercial interests. Any Amgen employee who violates the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and any foreign law equivalents, and who does not uphold our Code of Conduct and associated policies will be subject to discipline up to and including termination of employment.
Amgen does not tolerate any business transaction or activity that violates the antitrust and competition laws of any country in which the company conducts business.
Amgen provides an effective process for Amgen staff or their representatives to express concerns and report potential violations regarding Amgen business conduct without retaliation or intimidation.
Amgen staff are responsible for avoiding situations in which personal interests, outside activities, financial interests or relationships conflict or even appear to conflict with the company’s interests

Amgen is committed to complying with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards regarding the use of proprietary information and the maintenance of recorded information evidencing Amgen’s operations. Amgen employs efficient processes in the collection, use, and disclosure of proprietary information.
Amgen’s policy against insider trading applies to staff members, consultants, contract workers and temporary staff, as well as to members of their families and households.
Amgen requires that all interactions with healthcare providers and other customers comply with all applicable laws and adhere to the highest standards of professional ethics and responsibility.

Everyone in the company worldwide has a role to play in protecting and securing personal information. Any concerns related to a potential and/or actual breach of personal information are considered to be serious in nature, are thoroughly investigated and, if appropriate, measures are taken, up to and including immediate termination of employment, to the extent permitted by applicable laws. Non-employees may have their services terminated for violating Amgen’s Policy and related governance.
Amgen complies with applicable trade sanctions, embargoes, export and import control laws and regulations which may restrict export and import activities, including transfer of funds, goods, software or technology.
