Black Enterprise, the premier business, investing, and wealth-building resource for African Americans, selected Cynthia M. Patton, Amgen’s senior vice president and Chief Compliance Officer, for inclusion in the 2017 Black Enterprise Most Powerful Executives in Corporate America feature.
The listing ranks African American executives at the nation’s 1,000 largest publicly traded companies and 100 international companies with significant U.S. operations. It identifies executives who are vital to the management of major corporations as members of the senior leadership team and other key positions.
Cynthia was named Chief Compliance Officer in 2012 and has been with Amgen since 2005, where she started in the legal department. Cynthia also serves as Chair of the Amgen Foundation which seeks to inspire and prepare the next generation of innovators and brings the promise of biotechnology to diverse populations of students and scientific leaders. She received her J.D. from George Washington University and her bachelor’s degree from Vassar College.
